Why a separate site

The app is an editor: you open a photo and everything is available at once. That is right when you are working on a picture and wrong when you are not. Most of the time someone searching for “remove the background from this photo” wants exactly one thing done, once, and then wants to get on with whatever the photo was for.

So the web version inverts it. Every tool gets its own page, that page does one thing, and the thing it does is the first thing on the screen. No workspace, no sign-up wall between you and the result, no tour.

How tools get here

Each engine is ported from the app one at a time. A tool appears on this site when it genuinely runs — not when the page is designed. Today that is 1 live with 35 in progress, all of them listed on the tools page.

That is slower than shipping forty template pages at once, and it is deliberate. Pages for tools that do not work are worthless to the person who lands on them, and search engines are good at noticing that.

The app

PHAI is on iOS and rated 4.8 from 1,056 App Store ratings. It has the full editor: retouch with real sliders, generative edits, and the native face engine the retouch tools on this site are built on. That rating is the app's — the tools here are new and have no ratings of their own yet, which is why you will not see stars invented for them.

What we do with your photos

Process them, return them, delete them within the hour. They are not used for training and they are not shown to anyone. The privacy page spells out the detail, and pricing covers what is free and what will not be.
